Welcome to Poole Quays ForumPoole Quays Forum was formally adopted by the Borough of Poole in July 2013. The Forum has developed a neighbourhood plan that truly represents the neighbourhood and their varying interests.
The plan has been adopted by the Borough of Poole and is now used to guide decisions in planning applications. It is an opportunity for interested parties to share ideas and work together to improve the social, economic and environmental well being of the area. The Forum is made up of key representatives from a defined geographical area in Poole Town and Quay and Hamworthy East. We have over 440 members who either live or work in the Forum area. For the DiaryForum Meetings
In light of the highly infectious nature of the Coronavirus and as a responsible Forum, we have taken the decision to cancel all of our full forum meetings for the foreseeable future. Any of our cancelled meetings will be rescheduled later in the year and of course you will be notified as soon as we have a proposed restart of forum meetings. We will continue all our other normal activities. Trustee Meetings TBC Links |
What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
A neighbourhood development plan establishes general planning policies for the development and use of land in a neighbourhood, like:
Neighbourhood plans allow local people to get the right type of development for their community, but the plans must still meet the needs of the wider area. In most cases we expect this will mean that neighbourhood plans will have to take into account the local council’s assessment of housing and other development needs in the area.
