INSPECTOR WELCOMES POOLE’S NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
At a meeting of Poole Quays Forum last night (20.09.16), members were thrilled to hear that their draft Neighbourhood Plan had received a positive response from the Department of the Environment’s inspectorate. Borough of Poole’s Head of Planning, Stephen Thorne, made the announcement during a presentation on the Borough’s Local Plan refresh. He told the audience that whilst the Inspector had called for a number of detailed amendments, the document had been judged fundamentally sound. Mr Thorne praised the Forum for all its hard work in reaching this stage, and confirmed that the Borough would work closely with PQF in the coming weeks to address the amendments required. Once ratified by the Council, residents and businesses within the Plan area will get the chance to vote upon its adoption, early in 2017.
PQF Chair, Bill Constance, said “Tonight PQF and its members have taken a significant step forwards. The Plan took a great deal of time and effort to prepare, over almost three years, so this news is a significant milestone and puts local people well on the road to having a meaningful say in the future development of our Town”.
