The Trustees have issued the following press statement.
POOLE’S NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN IS MADE!
Following the very positive result from the Neighbourhood Plan Referendum on 2nd February, Poole Borough Council confirmed last night that the Poole Quays Forum’s Plan is now officially ‘made’. This means that, with immediate effect, the Plan becomes part of the Development Plan for the area. Going forward, developers working within the Plan area will have to demonstrate they have taken into account the aims and policies set out in the Plan when preparing their planning applications.
PQF Trustees have commented “We are delighted that the Poole Quays Forum Neighbourhood Plan has now been adopted by the Council and will form part of the Development Plan for the area.
It has been a long, and at times challenging, but always interesting project. We would like to thank the many people who have invested their time, energy and expertise in this successful outcome. It has been a real community effort, with local residents, business people, and planning professionals all volunteering their time to the cause. We are also grateful to the Borough for their assistance in guiding us through the process.
Now that the Neighbourhood Plan is made part of the Development Plan we look forward to working constructively with developers, Council planners, local businesses and the community in achieving the aims and objectives of the Plan, to make this area a better place in which to work, live and play.”
